SMALL TOWN SPIRIT

Kaiapoi (food swing) is an attractive and historic river town, just north of the braided Waimakariri River, Canterbury, in the South Island of New Zealand was an important trading centre in the 1850s and 60s, when its waterways allowed cutters, schooners and paddle steamers to service the needs of the pioneering settlers harvesting flax, meat & wool which was processed for international trade.

Kaiapoi is regarded as having the purest water in New Zealand with artesian wells, originating as snow high in the Great Southern Alps of New Zealand, filtered deep through many miles of Canterbury alluvial plains - independent tests have shown this to be some of the best water in the world.

Nestled among the world famous wine regions and trophy fishing rivers of New Zealand, Kaiapoi has also become reknown for its local Distillery producing high quality single malt whiskies.
